The life story of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni was revealed in his biopic ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’. The film was released in 2016 and was directed by acclaimed filmmaker Neeraj Pandey. The role of Dhoni was played by late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Dhoni was quite impressed with Sushant’s performance in the film as he looked similar to the former India captain in the film. But why are we suddenly talking about this biopic that came about 7 years ago. We are talking about it today because Dhoni’s elder brother Narendra Singh Dhoni’s Instagram account was discovered by fans after the CSK captain won IPL 2023. In the profile, Narendra can be seen posing for the camera and performing various stunts.

Going by the profile, it appears that Narendra lives a secluded life in Ranchi away from all the limelight Dhoni’s family receives, but there is no update on his whereabouts. The last photo of Narendra posted on this Instagram account is from February 2017. However, fans are still commenting on it.
Did Dhoni decide not to feature brother Narendra in his biopic?
The fact that Narendra has never been seen with MSD even after tasting success makes fans curious about the relationship between the brothers. There is no mention of Narendra in Dhoni’s biopic. It is shown in the film that Dhoni has an elder sister and no brother. So did Dhoni choose to ignore his brother and not make him a part of the biopic, which is what most fans seem to think?

There is no definite answer to this question because no one knows what happened behind the scenes. But Narendra during an old interview with The Telegraph India said that he was not a part of the film as it was not based on his life. “I cannot be present in the film because I do not have much to contribute to Mahi’s life, be it during her childhood, her struggles as a young man, or after becoming MSD to the world. It’s about him, not his family,” the elder Dhoni had said.
Narendra, who is ten years older than MS, said it might have been difficult to fit him into the film as he was not in Ranchi during the cricketer’s early years of playing. “By the time he picked up the bat for the first time, I was out of JVM-Shyamli and also away from home since 1991. I was in Kumaon (University) in Almora, where I completed my higher education before returning to Ranchi. I may have a moral contribution in life, but it will be very difficult to portray it in the film.
