‘Whenever they show her, something bad happens’ Netizens blame Anushka Sharma for Team India’s defeat in WTC final

After India’s defeat in the final of WTC 2023, Anushka Sharma has once again come under attack from online trolls. Pictures of Anushka looking intense and worried went viral when her husband Virat Kohli was dismissed after scoring just 49 runs in 78 balls. Reacting to these pictures, some users expressed their negative opinion on social media.

Dear @Anushka Sharma As a true fan of Virat, I have noticed a pattern when Anushka is present in the stadium during matches. It seems that neither Virat is able to achieve his target nor Team India or any player. I humbly request you to consider not participating in the matches. Hoping for the best! pic.twitter.com/VIYCRXkHBO

These derogatory and baseless comments directed at Anushka Sharma are not only unfair but also reflect the toxic nature of certain sections of social media. An accomplished actress and producer, Anushka has often faced unfair criticism whenever her husband or the Indian cricket team suffers a setback on the field. Such targeting is not only disrespectful but also unfair, as it undermines the individual achievements and abilities of the players on the cricket field.

It is important to remember that Anushka Sharma, like any husband or family member, is there to support her husband and the team. They should not be held responsible or blamed for their performance. It is unfortunate that some netizens resort to such behaviour, displaying a lack of empathy and understanding.

As responsible users of social media, it is important to foster positivity, respect, and empathy. Criticizing individuals based on personal beliefs or superstitions only perpetuates a negative and harmful environment. Instead, we should focus on appreciating the efforts of the players and supporting them during both victory and defeat. We must remember that sporting results are affected by various factors, and it is unfair to single out individuals who have no direct impact on the sport.
