Yamini earned a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Bharathiar University in Coimbatore, followed by master’s and MBA degrees from Berkeley.

Yamini, who was only 21, left her small town in India to arrive in the land of opportunity “terrified” and “excited”. He soon recognized that life would not be simple. After trying to stay in the US for a month, Yamini was left with only $150 (Rs 12,300) in her pocket after paying the rent. She knew that her only option was to find employment. He had traveled to the US on a one-way ticket. She took her first job serving food and beverages, at a cafe inside the Atlanta football stadium. Yamini once said in an interview that she always wanted independence and did not want to return to her parents for financial support.

as Chief Customer Officer
Prior to joining, billionaire Dharmesh Shah, who co-founded HubSpot as Chief Customer Officer in 2020, had a long and successful career working with IT giants such as SAP, Lucent, Workday and Dropbox. He was promoted as CEO in 2021, alongside eminent personalities like Oravale’s Safra Catz, Arista’s Jayshree Ullal and HCL’s Roshni Nadar. Rangan was appointed HubSpot’s first Chief Customer Officer in January 2020. In 2019, she was named one of San Francisco’s Most Influential Women in Business, among other honors.

Yamini actually did double duty during this time as she was chosen to take over the duties of CEO when she was hurt in a snowmobile accident. Then, in September 2021, he was appointed as the official CEO of HubSpot, formalizing his position. He has already implemented several programs during his tenure aimed at helping reduce worker burnout, such as the annual Global Week of Rest, no internal meeting Fridays, and management training. Rangan is also in charge of HubSpot’s new temporary mobility policy, which allows staff members to work remotely in another country for up to 90 days.
