Climate change
- In more than 60 years, Cyclone Biparjoy is the third storm to strike the west coast. According to experts, the increase in both intensity and frequency is indicative of the adverse effects of climate change.
- It has been carefully established that the increase in cyclone activity in the Arabian Sea is a result of global warming, which is accompanied by higher ocean temperatures and more moisture available.
- In research on climate change assessments over the Indian region, Dr. Medha Deshpande of the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology reports that most models indicate that the Arabian Sea sees more SST warming than the Bay of Bengal.

On 15 June, as Biparjoy passed near the port city of Karachi in Pakistan and Mandvi in Gujarat, the Meteorological Department reported complete house destruction and significant kutcha house damage in many areas.
In these areas, extremely severe cyclonic storms have the potential to bring down power and communication poles, disrupt railroads, and damage orchards, plantations, and standing crops.
