Reportedly, producer Sajid Nadiadwala has opted for a direct-to-digital release of the film and has collaborated with Amazon Prime Video for the same.
A source close to the development told Bollywood Hungama that the subject of the film is not commercial, and hence, Sajid felt it best to take Baawal straight to OTT instead of taking a risk and releasing it theatrically. The report also states that Sajid had a word with the lead actors, and after being on the same page with all of them, he took the decision. But on the other hand, it seems Varun is not happy with what happened.
