As a result, all you have to do is enter a pin of your location into Google Maps from within the Domino’s mobile app to receive your order. From there, you’ll be able to track drivers’ GPS locations, check wait times, and receive text updates about your order.
Sadly, though, you can’t get your pizza delivered directly to your beach chair. That’s because you’ll need to meet your driver wherever the app thinks is the best pickup location for their vehicle to stop. There are some other caveats as well. You’ll only have four minutes to meet your driver – so if your hiking trail or campsite isn’t close to a road, good luck getting your pizza in time. Also, the drop-off location must be within the store’s delivery zone.
New “Micro-Delivery” Option Goes Ahead Domino’s Hotspots Speciality This feature, launched in 2018, allowed Domino’s to make deliveries to outdoor areas such as stadiums, but still required the address of a nearby “Domino’s HotSpot” outdoor pizza delivery location.
Most recently, in April, Domino’s announced support for Apple CarPlay, which now allows drivers to easily order pizza by clicking on the Domino’s app on their car’s infotainment screen.
“Where we’ve really lost a lot of traction on the delivery business is the frequency of transactions,” Sandeep Reddy, Domino’s chief financial officer, said at the Oppenheimer Consumer Growth & E-Commerce Conference last week. “Delivery customers are very interested in convenience, not value-oriented.”
However, due to the easing of pandemic restrictions, Domino’s isn’t the only restaurant seeing a decline in delivery orders. According to market research firm glideRestaurant delivery orders declined by 8 percent compared to May 2022.
