Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni likes to take his bike around Ranchi whenever he is back in his hometown. But on a rare occasion this week, Dhoni was spotted driving a classic Mini Cooper car on the streets of Ranchi.
Dhoni was seen driving the classic Mini Cooper, which was introduced in 1959, in Ranchi, Jharkhand. A video of him driving the iconic car also went viral on the internet, which was originally shared by a youtuber named Suraj Khatri Vlogs. In the video, MS Dhoni was seen arriving in his vintage red colored Mini Cooper, which created a storm in the market at that time through its futuristic design, features and road presence.

In the clip, the CSK skipper was seen wearing a face mask, rolling down the window of the car and waving to his fans while driving. A closer look at the car reveals that it is a classic Mini masterpiece, which is hard to see on the roads nowadays, has been well maintained by the right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman.
Dhoni is very fond of vintage cars. On their 11th wedding anniversary in 2021, Dhoni gifted wife Sakshi Dhoni a vintage Volkswagen Beetle.
In an Instagram story, Sakshi posted a vintage blue and brown car and captioned, “Thanks for the anniversary gift!”. Significantly, MS Dhoni and Sakshi were married on July 4, 2010 in Dehradun and today they have completed 11 years.
The older model of Mini Cooper was then launched with multiple engine options including 998cc, 1275cc and 848cc. The lightweight car was known to provide quick acceleration and agile manoeuvrability. Front-wheel drive model with short wheelbase made it very popular among all car enthusiasts of the 90s.
The car was designed for customers who at that time did a lot of traveling in the city as well as on rural roads. Despite having a clever design and futuristic outlook, the vehicle offered great comfort to both the driver and the passengers.
Dhoni last month led Chennai Super Kings to a record-equalling fifth title win in the IPL 2023 season. After the Indian Premier League season, Dhoni underwent a knee operation in Mumbai earlier this month.
