New Delhi: Actress-producer and now director Kangana Ranaut is all set to bring to us an intriguing tale from the history of India. His next directorial venture ‘Emergency’ throws light on the events of 1975 which is considered as the darkest phase of post-independence India. And today, when the actual incident is 48 years old, the film’s actress-director Kangana revisits the moment that brought about a sea change in India’s political history. Kangana brings us an amazing star cast film based on this incident. She will be seen playing the role of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in this period drama.
After 48 years, Kangana took to Twitter to give all her fans a sneak peek into the past. He shared a detailed account of what happened in India in 1975 and how declaring emergency was a historic decision for the Indian National Congress. While Kangana was treating fans to the various looks of the characters in the film, yesterday she also shared an announcement video, bringing the world of Emergency closer to the audience.

Talking about the same, Kangana said, “During the filming of ‘Emergency’, knowing about the events that unfolded in 1975 gave me a deeper understanding of Indian history. People call it the darkest phase of Indian history, but A lot of people don’t do that.” ‘Can’t understand why Indiraji took this decision. With the film, I wish to bring out that side of the story as well. I am sure, after watching the film, many people will see those events from a different perspective.
‘Emergency’, a biographical historical drama, is directed and produced by Kangana Ranaut, scripted by Ritesh Shah and story by Ranaut. Apart from Kangana in the lead role, ‘Emergency’ also stars late actor Satish Kaushik, Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chowdhary and Milind Soman in key roles.
