Shimla: The Meteorological Office has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorm and lightning at different places across the state on Wednesday. The state may see the onset of rain on Wednesday, which will continue till Saturday. The Meteorological Department said light to moderate rain and snowfall is expected in the lower and middle hilly areas during the rains.
Anticipating damage to standing crops, fruit-bearing plants and seedlings, the Indian Meteorological Department has advised farmers to make adequate arrangements and resume spraying of insecticides.
No significant change was recorded in the minimum and maximum temperature of the state on Tuesday. IMD data showed that Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district was the coldest in the night, recording a minimum temperature of 3.4 degrees Celsius. During the pre-monsoon season from March 1 to May 16, Himachal Pradesh received 223.4 mm of rain against the normal of 214 mm, which is four per cent more.
