Searches for ‘AI jobs’ are 4x higher than ‘crypto jobs’ in 2023 when BTC reaches $69K

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as the clear winner in the battle for job seekers. According per a new analysis from cryptocurrency data aggregator CoinGecko.

From 2020 to 2022, searches for “AI Jobs” and “Crypto Jobs” stayed pretty close, with AI taking the crown on most days and Crypto taking the lead over Bitcoin (BTC), which is set to hit an all-time high of $69,000 in November 2021. reached at.

With growing acceptance and interest in both Web3 and cryptocurrency technologies, the crypto boom of 2022 is set to bring in a record number of job seekers – at least if such interest is judged by Google searches.

However, after the launch of ChatGPT in November 2022, searches for “AI jobs” skyrocketed.

According to a CoinGecko study, searches for “AI jobs” were almost five times higher than the number of searches for “crypto jobs” at their peak in 2023, and remain four times higher as of July 5.

The report notes that prior to BTC’s all-time high of $69,000, searches for “AI jobs” outnumbered similar crypto-related queries by a 3-to-1 margin. However, once BTC reached $69,000, searches for “crypto jobs” overtook the AI on two occasions:

“At its peak score of 26 on both January 9 and 30, 2022, search interest in ‘crypto jobs’ surpassed ‘AI jobs’, and was 5X its baseline in January 2020.”

CoinGecko’s methodology uses a rank scoring system to determine “search interest”. It takes into account Google search data from around the world. However, the researchers noted that Google is not the primary search engine in every geographic region, so results may not necessarily reflect the ground truth of interest.

Notably, Singapore has the highest search interest ratings among all countries for both the keywords “AI jobs” and “crypto jobs,” among other findings from the analysts.
