Bitcoin returned above $27,000 after a brief drop below that level yesterday following a modest daily gain.
Altcoins are also relatively quiet today with double-digit pumps with Render Token, Synthetix and Mass Network.
BTC Reclaims $27K
Last week was more volatile than this, at least for a week. The most significant swing in prices came after the US CPI numbers for April came out on Wednesday. BTC first jumped from $27,500 to $28,400 and then fell by about two grand.
After a minor pump, the asset headed straight south once again, falling to a two-month low of $25,800 on Friday. The weekend was much more positive and less eventful as bitcoin recovered to $27,000 and spent most of it.
The price jumped to $27,600 earlier this week, but it was short-lived, and the cryptocurrency dropped below $26,600 once again. However, it has gained almost $1,000 in the last 24 hours, and BTC is now near $27,500. This comes after Tether announced a new policy that will allow it to buy certain amounts of bitcoin.
Thus, its market cap has grown to $530 billion, and its dominance over alts is 46.6%.
rndr shoot up
Altcoins are also in the green on the daily scale. ETH managed to defend the $1,800 level with a slight increase of 1%. BNB held above $310 after a similar daily jump.
Large-cap alts such as Cardano, Polygon, Polkadot and Uniswap benefit the most – all up 3-4% in a day.
However, the biggest gainers on this time frame are Rendition Token, Mask Network and Synthetix. All three have seen double digit growth with a whopping 20% jump in RNDR.
Total crypto market cap has added almost $15 billion in a day and is back above $1.140 trillion.
