What is remake? Remade film in a different language. But we are living in the 22nd century, where the audience has become very advanced. Now, movies are seen and accepted without any linguistic barrier. Nevertheless, remakes are still being made. If we can say that almost 5-7 out of 10 movies are definitely remake versions. Be it Bollywood, Tollywood or Kollywood. The trend of remakes has been going on for a long time.
Bhola Shankar vs Vedalam
In Original Vs Remake, today we will take a look at an upcoming Telugu film Bhola Shankar, which is a remake of the blockbuster Tamil film Vedalam. The Telugu remake stars megastar Chiranjeevi and is directed by Meher Ramesh. The star-studded cast is also quite exciting as it includes Tamannaah Bhatia, Keerthy Suresh and Sushant Akkineni. But will this film live up to Vedalam or will it join the list of remake failures?
To be honest, when I think about it why would an audience want to put their energy and money into a remake when the original version is truly brilliant? But cinema industry works differently, we cannot judge it for sure as many remakes have worked here.

What may and may not work in Bhola Shankar as compared to the original
But Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar finds it easy for Ajith Kumar’s Vedalam. The original Tamil film was released in 2015 but is still fondly remembered among movie buffs. The film was a huge blockbuster at the box office and was an ideal group project for Ajith Kumar. With Ajith’s screen presence, will Chiranjeevi be able to do justice is the big question. Veladam is known for Ajith’s larger-than-life screen presence, heroic actions and style. So it is quite unexpected to see a remake version. But Chiranjeevi is also a big star, his dance and action is a treat for Telugu fans. So somewhere it can be useful for his fans as well.
From whatever glimpses we got of Bhola Shankar’s remake Duniya, the direction looks pretty weak. Telangana accent is a new trend in Tollywood recently. In Bhola Shankar too, as per the teaser, Chiranjeevi is seen accentuating Telangana Telugu and Hyderabadi Hindi. To be honest, it doesn’t suit him. The megastar is known for his fluent Telugu and dialogue delivery, so perhaps it would have worked out better.
The biggest plus point of Bhola Shankar, which is giving tough competition to Vedalam, is its music. The background music and the first single JAM JAM JAJJANKA was really good. And let’s not forget, Chiranjeevi’s dance moves even at the age of 67.
Recently Chiranjeevi revealed a video of Bhola Shankar, in which he is seen copying the style and acting method of his brother Pawan Kalyan. While mega fans are very happy with this performance, it is not sure whether movie buffs really liked it or not.
Miss Charm to be remade to feature the real screen image of the protagonist?
Amidst standing with the original, the allure of showcasing the real image of the star made over the years has waned. But as we said, it is too early to decide whether Bhola Shankar will work among the audience or not. Significantly, the megastar’s previous release Godfather was also remade but still managed to impress the audience.
