The Indian Premier League (IPL) playoff race came down to the final over of the league stage as Gujarat Titans defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday. Gujarat’s six-wicket win also enabled Mumbai Indians to claim the fourth and final spot in the IPL 2023 playoffs. Rohit Sharma’s men are joined by Gujarat, Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants. After last night’s win against Bangalore, the defending IPL champions shared a throwback gold to welcome the three other qualifying sides. In a video shared by the Gujarat-based franchise, MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan and Krunal Pandya can be seen dancing their hearts out at a party. “Where four friends meet, it is the night Gulzar,” read the caption.

Coming back to the on-field developments, Gujarat Titans were the first team to qualify for the playoffs of IPL 2023. On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants qualified for the next stage on Saturday.
With just one spot left to be decided in the playoffs, Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore were in action in their last league match yesterday. In the first match of the day, Mumbai defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets. The five-time IPL champions, however, were well aware that a win for Bangalore in the next match of the day would see them out of the 16th edition of the IPL. But Gujarat Titans defeated Bangalore by six wickets to help Mumbai reach the playoffs.
Chennai Super Kings will take on Gujarat Titans in the first qualifier of IPL 2023 on Tuesday. Lucknow Supergiants and Mumbai Indians will face each other in the Eliminator on Wednesday.
