Bhopal: A cheetah cub born two months back in Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park died on Tuesday. The number of cheetah deaths in KNP in the last two months has gone up to four, including three cheetahs translocated from African countries. It has been said in the release of the Forest Department that prima facie the cub died due to weakness.
“The surveillance team found one of the four cubs ‘Jwala’ lying at the spot where they were seen earlier, while three other cubs were roaming with their mother. The team alerted the veterinarians, who reached the spot and gave necessary treatment to the cub, but it died,” the release said.

It seems that the cub died due to weakness as it was weak from birth. Cheetah Jwala, earlier known as Siaya, was brought to KNP in Sheopur district from Namibia in September 2022. She gave birth to four cubs in the last week of March this year.
The cheetahs, ‘Sasha’ and ‘Uday’, who were transferred to the KNP from Namibia and South Africa in separate batches along with other cheetahs, died on 27 March and 23 April respectively, while the female feline ‘Daksha’ ‘ He died on 9 May. Said.
