The final of the World Test Championship (WTC) between India and Australia began at The Oval on 7 June, with Australia continuing to dominate the opening day of the Test.
On the first day, Travis Head displayed his batting prowess, remaining unbeaten on an impressive 146, while Steve Smith also displayed his skills to end the day with an unbeaten 95. Total 327 runs for the loss of three wickets in 85 overs.
Amid undivided attention of the global cricket community towards this ongoing match, Cricket Australia shared a captivating video showcasing the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) to predict the outcome of the World Test Championship final.
An AI-generated test result, which delivered an unexpected verdict, has added an interesting element to the title match after an Australian cricketer.

“We asked AI to predict the result of the WTC 23 final, and the results were interesting,” he said in a YouTube video created by Cricket Australia.
Reading out the result, captain Pat Cummins said that Australia and India were engaged in a nerve-wracking battle. He noted that while chasing the challenging target, Australia had adopted an unorthodox strategy, which involved reversing their batting order. According to Cummins, this unexpected move added an element of surprise to the contest.
Josh Hazlewood remarked that he and Nathan Lyon, an unlikely opening pair, looked guarded and displayed unexpected finesse. Hazlewood further added that he hit elegant boundaries, setting the tone for an audacious chase. He said that they were surprised by Australia’s unorthodox approach as India were struggling to find their rhythm.
Cummins said that he himself came at number three and proceeded with fearless intent. He insisted that his approach had instilled confidence in the Australian camp and brought them closer to victory with each stroke. Cummins said when two runs were needed off the final ball, he launched the ball into the evening sky, hitting a nervous full toss delivered by the Indian bowler.
