According to Tinder’s Future of Dating Report 2023, aptly titled ‘Welcome to the Renaissance in Dating, Driven by AuthenticityGen Z is breaking old world norms, demolishing clichés, and embracing their most authentic, unfiltered selves. According to Tinder report, Gen Z (18-25 years old) are now more dependent on ‘authenticity’ with more evolved outlook on sexuality, gender and dating. Gen Z, born between 1997 and 2012, makes up the largest user base on Tinder. And they are changing the gaming landscape. They don’t conform to the pressures and conventional labels attributed to dating. 75% of Gen Z Tinder users say they are challenging the norms of dating handed down by the previous generation. 69% of Gen Z polled agree that dating standards need a major overhaul to one that fits in with a more diverse society. As Tinder reports, getting married ranks tenth on their priority list. ‘Long term relationship’ is the most popular relationship goal on Tinder rather than hookup. 80% of millennials prioritize self-care when looking for the same trait in their potential partners. Mental health is top priority.
For Gen Z, dating isn’t limited to their circle or clique. Time is of the essence. Dating is more calm with the younger generation abandoning alcoholism. About 68 percent of the people involved in the survey said that they use dating apps even during work. While a romantic relationship is still the end goal, Gen Z is more open-ended. They are not trying to define a connection before it is ready. They are looking for companionship, friendship, or a circumstantial. Anything that uplifts them emotionally. Although less interested in marriage themselves than their older generation, Gen Z marriages will be more successful. the reason? Gen Z prioritizes personal growth, emotional well-being, and open communication in a relationship.

As Gen Z values mental health more than anything else, dating will cater to relationships that value meaningful connections over forced romances. No submission to manipulative partner(s).
Redefining Masculinity | empathy and healthy masculinity
Beyond virtue signaling and symbolism, Gen Z is seeking authenticity and unabashedly embracing their vulnerable selves. Challenging stereotypical masculinity, the younger generation is embracing empathetic and healthy masculinity.
Redefining Gender Norms | inclusive dating
Gen Z is more inclusive about gender and sexuality and doesn’t shy away from bringing it out of the closet. Love and dating are no longer lumped into gender binaries.
Redefining Interrelationships | embracing diversity
It is a global trend among younger generations, with a growing acceptance of diversity and inclusiveness in interfaith, interracial and international relations. no holds barred.
