This is an opinion editorial from Obiwan Satoshi, a professional pickleball player.
Fiat money has given rise to a fiat world. Fiat Food, Fiat Jobs… and Fiat Athletes. In this article, I offer thoughts about what it means to be a bitcoin athlete – an ideal I seek to embody in my professional pickleball career and a template for the professional athlete of the 21st century.
Fiat Athlete Vs. bitcoin athlete
Fiat athletes compete to earn Fiat money. They store their time and energy (aka, their wealth) in manipulated money that is stolen from them, they trust companies not to censor them and they often live a high time priority lifestyle.
Bitcoin athletes are a new breed of elite, professional athletes. Bitcoin athletes store their money in solid money that protects them from theft, they leverage decentralized protocols like Nostra to create censorship-resistant, peer-to-peer relationships with their fans, they embrace bitcoin values and They lead a low time priority lifestyle.
Fiat athletes create digital identities on platforms created by companies that have the ability to censor what they say, separating them from their fans. Bitcoin athletes build digital identities on open-source protocols that can’t censor what they say. These protocols enable bitcoin athletes to connect directly with their fans.
Fiat athletes rely on banks to hold their money and leak energy during every exchange between fiat currencies when traveling to different countries. Bitcoin athletes keep their money and save energy by using global currency when traveling to compete.
Fiat athletes rely on politicians to maintain monetary integrity. Bitcoin Athletes run nodes and verify that Bitcoin’s monetary policy is enforcing the 21 million supply cap.
Fiat athletes live the Fiat lifestyle and promote Fiat values to their fans. Bitcoin Athletes live the bitcoin lifestyle and preach to their fans the values of the bitcoin protocol – truth, freedom and personal responsibility.
Fiat athletes live at the mercy of the banks and politicians who control their money and the companies that control their financial sponsorship. Bitcoin athletes are sovereign and without an owner. His money is governed by math and he is directly supported by his fans, who blink at him at the speed of light.
Fiat athletes are motivated by fame and fiat money. Bitcoin Athletes is driven by a mission to spread financial literacy to the 8 billion people on Earth and unlock unprecedented peace and human prosperity. Bitcoin athletes play for a purpose beyond money. They are playing to save money.
Fiat Athletes uses a centralized money, centralized social media and centralized sponsorship model. They have relationships with intermediaries (banks, platforms and companies) who have the power to censor or control them if they don’t toe the line. Bitcoin Athletes uses a decentralized funding, decentralized social media and decentralized sponsorship model. They use the protocol to restore a direct relationship with their fans and reduce (or eliminate) their dependence on banks, platforms and companies.
win with bitcoin
I believe the bitcoin world will create bitcoin athletes, a new type of professional athlete who are financially empowered directly by their fans, live in line with the values of the bitcoin protocol, and improve financial literacy and make money easier. Use your influence to heal. The elite athletes of the 21st century will build their careers on bitcoin and powered by the Lightning Network.
As a professional pickleball player myself, I’m on a mission to demo this new template. I want to master my game by testing myself against the best pickleball players in the world and I play for bitcoin.
Part of my mission as a bitcoin athlete is to help fiat athletes jump into the world of bitcoin, help them understand bitcoin and secure their information in cyberspace (assets, identity, data, etc.) with encrypted energy. Have to help The process often begins with me sending them to 21 Bar after games so they can experience the magic of bitcoin firsthand and then helping them set up a Nostra account so fans can support them financially directly.
I believe the professional athletes of the 21st century will be powered by bitcoin. They will connect directly with their fans via Zap and store their life energy in rare, digital, encrypted money. They will run nodes, share proof of work, and connect with fans on Nostra. They would be uncensored, unstoppable, and sovereign in trying to financially support their careers.
