Adipurush’s overseas first day collection is around $2.70 million or Rs. 22 crores approx. This includes $1 million in previews from Thursday in North America and some European markets, which means an actual $1.70 million on Friday. Combined with Rs. 89 crores in India, worldwide on first day Rs. 111 crores, making it only the sixth film ever to score a century on the first day.
There are more than 100 crore openers worldwide as follows:
- Bahubali 2 – Rs. 201 crores
- RRR – Rs. 190 crores
- KGF 2 – Rs. 162 crores
- Saho – Rs. 116 crores
- Adipurush – Rs. 111 crore approx
- Pathan – Rs. 108 crores
More than half of the film’s overseas collections came from North America, which collected $1.50 million including $900K previews. The mixed response from previews meant that there was little movement for the film throughout the day, with advance sales making up most of the film’s collections.
The Telugu version grossed around $1.70 million on the first day, while the Hindi version stood second with $0.95 million. The Telugu overseas market is quite loaded up front and with no word of mouth in its favour, the film will likely end its first weekend around $6 million, despite a Friday almost halfway through.
