A recent study sheds light on the methods extraterrestrials use to communicate. Scientists are attempting to take a closer look at radio pulses coming from the center of our galaxy as part of their most recent search for extraterrestrial life.
The study, reported in The Astronomical Journal, suggested that signals coming from the Milky Way’s core could be evidence of the presence of intelligent alien life.
The idea that intelligent extraterrestrial beings may be lurking at the center of our galaxy, the Milky Way, has changed the course of extraterrestrial life research.
Pulsars, which are stars, naturally emit narrow-frequency pulses. Additionally, individuals intentionally use these pulses for various applications, such as radar technology.
The scientist went into great detail to describe his approach to searching for aliens.
The software was built by academics under the direction of graduate student Akshay Suresh from Cornell University and tested on well-known pulsars known to accurately pick up microscopic frequencies.

These frequency bands are incredibly narrow, with a width of around one-hundredth of the frequency typically used by an FM radio station. The researchers used the technique to search data from the Green Bank Telescope in West Virginia.
According to research co-author Vishal Gajjar of the SETI Institute, “Radio SETI has so far mainly devoted its efforts to the search for ongoing signals.”
Signals coming from the center of the Milky Way have drawn the attention of researchers because it is packed with stars and exoplanets that may be habitable.
Additionally, given their location at the center of the Milky Way, intelligent extraterrestrials who live in the center of the Milky Way and wish to communicate with other galaxies may be able to send signals to a variety of worlds.
