Allu Arjun has become the first Indian celebrity to cross one million followers on the Threads app. The Telugu superstar has over 21.8 million followers on Threads parent app Instagram. The massive number of followers on IG has reached the Threads app. However, no other homegrown celeb has yet gained the same popularity on the new platform of Meta. Meanwhile on her first (and only) Threads post of a monochromatic picture, Pushpa Star got over 2.7k replies and 77k likes. Fans cheered the superstar for crossing one million followers on threads and congratulated him for creating history.

Allu Arjun is all set to hit the screens in 2021 with the all India hit Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1. The sequel to the blockbuster Pushpa 2: The Rule is expected to release in 2024. He made his acting debut in 2003 in K Raghavendra Rao’s Telugu drama Gangotri opposite Aditi Agarwal. However, he first appeared on the silver screen as a child artist in Vijetha (1985), a Telugu remake of the Bengali film Saheb (1981). The actor is married to Sneha Reddy. The couple has two children Ayaan (son) and Arha (daughter). Sneha Reddy has more than 8.9 million followers on Instagram while 132k followers on threads.

Meta’s rival on Twitter, the Threads app remains in the news amid reports of dwindling membership and active daily users. However, the arrival of homegrown celebs on the app may bring some relief to the owner even as the bird app is undergoing a massive rebranding. While the Twitter dumpster is on fire, Mark Zuckerberg’s threads may be given a new lease on the app that is still in beta mode and the company is working on potential features.
