Anushka Sharma pens emotional message for Virat Kohli’s century in 500th game

In his remarkable 500th international appearance, Virat Kohli was the epitome of calm and class as he scored his 76th international Test century. He was the main reason behind India’s 438 against the West Indies on the second day of the second Test. Kohli scored a crucial 121 off 206 balls, his 29th century in Test cricket, a feat which put him on a par with the great Sir Donald Bradman. Kohli was involved in a 159-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Ravindra Jadeja, who scored 61 off 152 balls to bring up his 19th Test fifty.

However, the West Indies hit back, dismissing Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja in quick succession. Kemar Roach was the standout bowler for West Indies, ending with figures of 3/104 from 22 overs.

Ravichandran Ashwin played a useful inning down the order and was the last batsman to be dismissed for 56 off 78 balls.

The first session of the second day completely belonged to Virat Kohli, who was in his zone and kept quietly ticking the scorecard. The drives also came back and he brought up his century within the first half hour of the game.
