Every day we test different types of monitors, each with its own specific purpose. Some monitors are ideal for increased productivity, while others are more suitable for low-budget monitors. Some monitors cater to the needs of businesses, resulting in the best professional monitors, and some that work in photography or video due to their exceptional color accuracy, resulting in the best monitors for photo editing and the best for video editing. There are monitors.
The truth is that monitors are engineered with a specific purpose in mind, just like any other piece of technology. It’s unusual for a monitor to excel in all areas at once – so when we find a monitor that checks all our boxes, like the DesignView PD2706UA – it’s a big deal.
unboxing and first impressions
When we opened the box we knew the DesignView PD2706UA was an impressive build. The casing for the monitor is well built, and the included Ergo monitor arm is a perfect size in both height and parts. The individual parts of the arm are thick enough that it feels like they won’t break with the slightest strain and yet small enough that they can be placed neatly behind the monitor.
As soon as we plugged the screen in for the first time, we saw the brightness of the display come to life. Colors are wonderful even without calibration, and we could easily choose a color profile to match our MacBook.

The included ergo stand looks incredible and benefits the DesignView PD2706UA greatly. Its built-in feel makes this monitor like a Swiss army knife that can go anywhere, on any setup, and in portrait or horizontal orientation.
The DesignView PD2706UA’s sleek black frame can blend in with minimalist and maximalist desk setups. The included ergo arm can affix to any desk or attach with a grommet, due to the C-clamp mount’s ability to separate the pieces. Within the Ergo Stand, the horizontal arms can move up and down to find the right height, plus the full articulation on the two-piece horizontal arm and VESA mount really means it can fit just about anywhere outside the monitor box.
In the scenario that this monitor is used where the back is visible, BenQ includes a port cover in the box, making all your cables virtually invisible, hide that with the cover and then ergo Cable management built into the arm.
Another great feature of the DesignView PD2706UA is that a USB-A, USB-C, and headphone port are located on the right side of the monitor. This port placement has been very helpful regardless of the monitor’s orientation and was an excellent place for us to plug in a drive, charge a phone, or even some headphones or a headset for a meeting.

In use
We’ve tested the DesignView PD2706UA on a number of different desks, in a number of different setups, and for a number of use cases. So far, we’ve been surprised by how well this monitor fits into everything we’ve used it for. As a secondary monitor in portrait mode, the DesignView PD2706UA has been great for viewing spreadsheets, editing vertical content, viewing a long email thread, and working on documents.
This display can suit any setup as a primary monitor, with the ability to move around and fit just about anywhere. For example, this monitor can sit right on top of the console if you have a mixing board, or for photographers, it can swivel to get the right viewing angle in an editing setup or for a reference monitor attached directly to the camera. Is. For business use, this monitor can be pulled into view during use and then pushed out of the way to work on other materials as needed. Alternatively, without the need for additional accessories, this monitor can fit into the perfect ergonomic height and depth, reducing strain on the user’s back, neck and overall health.

This monitor is capable of producing brilliant colors, switching between color modes with the touch of a button, and even replicating images on an e-book display with BenQ’s ePaper mode.
In addition, the PD2706UA can have two picture or color modes at once to make comparing and contrasting photos and videos even more accessible.
The last feature we’ll mention is input switching. Thanks to the included Puck controller, we could switch between inputs (USB-C, HDMI, DisplayPort) by pressing one of the preset buttons on the Puck. So, if you have multiple computers running on this monitor, you can switch more easily than ever. We ran a few laptops and a desktop on the monitor simultaneously, and we were able to switch between them by pressing the corresponding buttons on the controller

final call
As far as business monitors go, the DesignView PD2706UA has it all. The only downside is that it’s not a bit big, but there is a bigger model available, so that’s not a good thing either.
We don’t often give 5-star ratings here because we try to find fault with the products we review by design. However, in the case of the DesignView PD2706UA, we didn’t find any. The picture is excellent, the ergo arm is superb, color accuracy is phenomenal, the ports are solid, and the Puck controller makes it easy to navigate. Even the price is doable for a monitor of this quality, which makes the DesignView PD2706UA a top recommendation for us.
