Phone accessory brand CASETiFY recently revealed what might be its most ambitious partnership ever: some iOS chargers based on the acclaimed anime franchise Neon Genesis Evangelion.
Fans of the series will get a huge discount because each one in the collection references key parts of it rebuilding evangelion Movies. The most notable of these should be airpods pro Case and Wireless Charging Dock Based on EVA Unit 01, There’s a lid at the back that you lift up to open a slot where you can place the earbud case for charging. At the bottom is a port for the Lightning port cable.
As you can see from the images, the dock has a large, jagged design. The middle horn sticks out quite a bit, so it won’t fit snugly in your pocket or bag. Not that you would want that in the first place. CASETiFY says it is primarily a decorative piece unable to withstand “hard (impact), scratches, or vigorous activities”. You have to keep it on top of your desk.
At launch, two options will be available: one supports the original AirPods Pro while the other supports the AirPods Pro 2. There is no price difference between the two as both cost $122.
magsafe charging
the other two in the collection are wireless magsafe charger for iphone. First of all, you have Evangelion Charging Dock Designed to mimic the mobile ejection stand of films. It even comes equipped with a removable and magnetic “umbilical cable” wireless charger for added flexibility. It’s a little hard to tell, but it appears that you can’t remove the cable from the charging puck. The whole thing looks like one solid unit so you can’t switch out for a different Lightning port cable usb-c cable,
If you don’t mind spending $122 for the dock, you can buy Wireless charger alone for $52, or you can take that $52 and buy Evangelion-Branded phone strap (that’s an expensive piece of rope) for your iPhone. CASETiFY’s Evangelion collection officially launches on July 20th at 12am PST. We’re mentioning the specific time because, at 9 p.m. ET on July 19th, the company is opening up a priority access list for any superfans who want to get in early.
As good as the collection is, we are left with many questions. Namely, do any of these devices support fast charging? are they your standard $40 MagSafe Charger or maybe they’re more alike belkins boostcharge pro, Regarding Android, it appears Evangelion collection is strictly for iphone, We contacted CASETiFY for clarification on the specifications of the device, support for fast charging and whether it is planning to launch something similar for Android. This story will be updated later.
