Disney World is shutting down the Galactic Starcruiser, the immersive star wars-themed hotel that costs around $5,000 for a two-night stay. In an update on Disney’s websiteThe company says the Starcruiser will host its last guests from September 28 to September 30.
“We are so proud of all the cast members and Imagineers who brought Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser for life and look forward to providing an outstanding experience for guests during the remaining voyages in the coming months,” Disney’s update said. “Thank you to our guests and fans for making this experience so special. “
Disney’s Galactic Starcruiser didn’t last long, as it first opened its doors to guests in March 2022. The grand hotel is modeled after Halcyon star wars, featuring highly detailed decorations, interactive events, themed dining and live entertainment with a two-night experience. But with a price tag of roughly $4,807 for two adults (or $5,999 for three adults and one child), Disney doesn’t exactly make living very affordable.
However, there have been indications that Anubhav will be struggling. In March, Disney announced that it would begin scheduling two bookings per week in October, down from its usual three to four weekly bookings. With Halcyon closing in September, Disney won’t have a chance to make that change.
According to Disney, the company will contact anyone booking on or after September 30 “to discuss your options and modify your plans.” The company is also pausing new bookings until May 26 while it cares for affected guests. Disney did not immediately respond ledgeRequest for comment.
