Virat Kohli smashes century against Gujarat Titans in Royal Challengers Bangalore’s must-win encounter; However, it went in vain as the Hardik Pandya-led side defeated them by 6 wickets. This defeat knocked them out of the tournament as Mumbai Indians qualified for the play-offs as they had more points than the Faf du Plessis-led side. Shubman Gill was the hero for GT as he smashed a match-winning knock of 104 off 52 balls as he stayed in there till the end and hit a six off the last over to chase down the last run of this year’s IPL.
The exit of Royal Challengers Bangalore paved the way for Mumbai Indians to go into the play-offs with 16 points to their name. The Rohit Sharma-led side will play in the second qualifier against Lucknow Supergiants, who have qualified for the knock-out stage without their skipper KL Rahul. Although his team did not end up as winners, Kohli added another record to his name as he now has the most number of centuries by any batsman in the history of the Indian Premier League.

King Kohli was in scintillating form this season as he scored 639 runs in 16 innings with 6 half-centuries and 2 back-to-back hundreds. However, he could not add more runs to it as his team crashed out of the tournament after suffering a defeat in their last league game. Meanwhile, a picture of Virat Kohli with tears in his eyes has surfaced online and it didn’t take any time to become a trend on the social media platform. Virat has been playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore for 16 years and he is yet to see his team lift the trophy. The star batsman has been the most consistent player for the team since its inception, scoring over 7,000 runs which is the most by any batsman in IPL history.
