Singh was born in 1983 in Anand, Gujarat. His father, Tej P. Singh, is a biophysicist at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, and his mother is a PhD. He was educated at Ram Krishna Purana and Delhi Public School in Delhi from 1987 to 2001. He earned his BTech in Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras between 2001 and 2005. He completed a three-month summer internship. With ITC Limited in Kolkata in May 2004. In 2005, he graduated with an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He completed a three-month internship with Deutsche Bank in London and New York. She is the primary investor in the reality series Shark Tank India. Vinita Singh raised funds for several businesses on Shark Tank India. Before Sugar Cosmetics, Vinita Singh started two other businesses that failed. He thought of starting a new company in 2015. She came up with the idea for the cosmetics business.
