India’s young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has a bright future in the international game, according to former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir. 2011 World Cup winner Gautam Gambhir believes that Jaiswal should be in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup in 2024, which will be held in the United States and the Caribbean Islands.
Gambhir said on News18, “In India, the issue is that we take 2 months of IPL so seriously that whoever does well, we include him in the Indian team. Jaiswal has scored a double century in domestic cricket in both first class and one-day matches.” (Who is Abhishek Sharma, know everything about India-A star, disciple of Yuvraj Singh and SRH batsman)

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s success in domestic cricket and IPL saw him called up to the national team for the first time. The left-handed hitter was included in both the Test and T20I squads against the West Indies. He is likely to play his first T20 match after making his Test debut in the first game of the series.
Left-handed hitter Rinku Singh scored 474 runs at an average of 59.25 and a strike rate of 149.53, including four half-centuries, which was one of the best finds in the recent IPL.
He further added, “Rinku Singh’s story is inspiring and he has done well. But don’t judge anyone after one season.”
He concluded, “Let Rinku score runs in the domestic season and then come back in the IPL and score runs again and if he continues to do well then you can look at him in the Indian team.”
Recently news came out that young Ruturaj Gaikwad will lead the Indian team in the upcoming Asian Games to be held in Hangzhou, China. Earlier, speculations suggested that veteran Indian batsman Shikhar Dhawan could lead the team during the event to be held from September 19 to October 8.
However, after impressive performances in List A cricket as well as in the IPL, the BCCI selectors chose Gaikwad to lead the team. Additionally, talented middle-order batsman Rinku Singh has been selected for the national team for the first time, while Jitesh Sharma has been selected as the wicketkeeper.
