KL Rahul was once considered one of the best batsmen in the shortest format of the game and earned the charge of vice-captaincy of Team India; However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sacked him from the post due to his lack of form in the last few months. His poor form continued in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) and he was ruled out of the tournament due to injury.
The right-handed wicket-keeper batsman played for the Indian cricket team under three captains – MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Rahul talked about all the three captains in an interview and said that Dhoni was like a mentor to him and he liked the way the former wicket-keeper batsman handled the team with his calm and composed attitude. Furthermore, he added that Team India’s performance under the leadership of Virat Kohli was phenomenal as he brought the aggression and set high standards. He said the star batsman taught everyone how to achieve greatness and everyone tried to “be a better version of themselves under his leadership”.

Speaking about Rohit Sharma, he said that the current captain of the Indian cricket team prefers to do his homework before stepping onto the field of play and has a “careful approach towards the game”. Rahul said Sharma knows everyone’s strengths and weaknesses and is very good at strategizing. The wicket-keeper batsman revealed the lessons he learned from three legendary captains of the Indian cricket team.
