During a press conference Hon. Unveiled Honor Magic V2 is breaking the world record for the flagship with the smallest foldable screen. With an astonishing thickness of 4.7mm when unfolded and 9.9mm when folded, it beats the Huawei Mate X3. The phone weighs just 231 grams, which makes it lighter than the Huawei Mate 50 RS (236g) and the iPhone 14 Pro Max (240g).
The main drawbacks of foldable displays, such as weight and thickness, have been addressed with the Honor Magic V2. Its novelty makes it an excellent choice for a primary device. The device’s small and lightweight design required the creation of a custom-made Luban titanium hinge. Using Honor’s mortise and tenon integrated molding technology, the hinge reduces the number of tack components by up to 70% by connecting the Wave cover and the main body. The hinge has replaced the surgical grade stainless steel with the new Shield Steel which is 25% thinner and 20% stronger, developed by Honor.

The focus on reliability has resulted in the hinge receiving gold level certification from SGS high-reliability folding quality and a folding life of over 400,000 times. A suspended water drop structure, zero gear structure, and multi-angle free hovering are all Honor Magic V2 elements.

The device features dual displays inside and out, both of which support 120Hz LTPO, giving it great display quality. High-frequency PWM dimming at 3840Hz ensures eye protection. Honor Magic V2 includes revolutionary Goodix technologies for Fingerprint Scanner, Foldable Screen Touch, Active Pen, Global Touchpad, Intelligent Audio Amplification and Health Sensing.
The second-generation Snapdragon 8 Advanced Edition powers the Honor Magic V2. It features Honor’s proprietary C1 communication chip, which ensures reliable connectivity even in poor signal locations. The camera setup includes a triple camera system with state-of-the-art algorithms.

The MagicOS 7.2 operating system on the Honor Magic V2 offers a seamless user experience similar to that of the iPhone. It adds the Parallel Space feature to ensure user privacy and allow simultaneous play on two locations.
The smartphone is available in two variants: 16+256GB for 8,999 yuan ($1,256) and 16+512GB for 9,999 yuan ($1,395). Available colors include Elegant Black, Velvet Black, Velvet Purple, and Gold. The 11,999 yuan ($1,674) Ultimate edition is aimed at business users and comes with a stylus, etched texture and black gold design.
