Instagram was down for a few hours on Sunday evening. The app’s feed was frozen, with users throwing up errors saying it couldn’t refresh, while the website only served a blank page. Other services related to Instagram’s parent company Meta, such as Facebook, WhatsApp, or Horizon World, appear to be unaffected. There’s no sign of any issues like the massive datacenter spine problem that could bring the company’s services down for hours in 2021.
The account did not post any updates about the outage on Instagram’s help page and on other platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. An Instagram-owned service like Twitter would be a good place to check, but despite rumors and leaks, it doesn’t exist yet.
