East Champaran: Two Chinese nationals were arrested at the India-Nepal border at Motihari in Bihar’s East Champaran district for allegedly trying to enter India without a visa, officials said on Sunday, amid an ongoing probe into the case of Pakistani national Seema Haider illegally entering India. The Chinese nationals have been identified as Fu Kang and Zhao Jing, both residents of Jiangxi, China. “The name of one of the two Chinese nationals apprehended from the India-Nepal border is Fu Kang. Fu Kang’s passport was issued on 31 May 2023 and his passport is valid till 30 May 2033.
He is a resident of Jiangxi, China. The name of the second Chinese citizen is Zhao Jing. His passport is valid till February 27, 2033. Zhou is also a resident of Jiangxi, China”, the officials said. Speaking to ANI, Motihari Superintendent of Police (SP) Kantesh Mishra said, “Two Chinese nationals have been caught under suspicious circumstances, both have been interrogated and a case has been registered at Haraiya police station. He is being sent to jail, will inquire further after taking him on remand.
According to the information received from the immigration officials, this is the second attempt of both the Chinese citizens to enter the Indian border. “On June 22, two Chinese nationals came to Birgunj in Nepal and were seen roaming in the area. After this, on July 2, both the Chinese citizens were caught near the customs office located on the India-Nepal border in Raxaul. He had passports. While attempting to enter, he was sent back to Nepal with a warning after being denied entry on the basis of his passport. But both these Chinese nationals were caught again by the immigration officials last evening while trying to re-enter the Indian border from Nepal. After questioning, he was handed over to Raxaul’s Haraiya OP police”, the officials said.
