Kenny Chesney, wearing a blue shirt, blue pants and blue Chair Bay Rum Cap, his brand of alcoholic beverage, performed a set that lasted more than an hour as part of the Hy-V IndyCar Race Weekend concerts.
According to the Des Moines Register in 2019, Kenny Chesney played against a backdrop of brilliant blue skies, which was different from his appearance at Wells Fargo Arena four years earlier when lightning caused a temporary power outage at the start of his performance, causing a 14-minute delay.

Despite his lack of interaction with the audience during his entire concert, Chesney reached down to shake hands or slap his “No Shoes Nation” fans, including the tiny palm of a blonde child on someone’s shoulder.
Kenny Chesney has been recording singles since the late 1990s, gathering a multi-generational audience, which was evident during Saturday’s show.

Kenny Chesney joined his fans in a truly touching and special moment. Kenny Chesney posted a snapshot on social media of himself scattering some of the ashes of his dog Ruby, who died in December.
In the comment, he added, “spreading Ruby’s love on the West Coast,” before mentioning his pet Instagram account, @darubagirl, where Chesney continues to share adorable photos of the dog.
The picture shows Chesney, 55, lying on a beach on the West Coast, although he did not reveal where he was. Some of Ruby’s ashes are softly scattered in the sand near the country singer’s feet.
Fans expressed great sympathy for Chesney and his grief in the comments.
One supporter wrote: “She’s so happy to have you as someone who cares for her,” and another: “Oh wow, what a great job you’re doing. Everywhere, Daruba will be appreciated and missed. ❤️❤️❤️.”
“What a wonderful way to remember Ruby! There will be a little bit of her everywhere now, although I’m sure it wasn’t the easiest of things.” added a third.
