Lily-Rose Depp’s performance in The Idol was criticized for the same and praised by many. Chloe Fineman recently posted a video on her Instagram mimicking Lily’s performance on ‘The Idol’. The comedian appeared in the background dressed in a lace bodysuit and sported make-up like Lily’s character on the show. The video was a parody of Lilly’s on-screen character, a popstar trying to redeem herself after a rough patch in her career. Chloe mimicked many of the show’s dialogue as she held a wad of cigarettes in her hand.
“The music should sound like a prostitute. is my song fk? Chloe can be heard saying that she smokes more than one cigarette. She then sings Cher’s ‘Believe’ and ‘Pocketful of Sunshine’ with a red robe around her face, mocking the asphyxiation scene from the series.
Fineman shared the video on Instagram with the caption, “My audition for the IDOL (must have been lost in the mail) @theidol (@lilyrose_depp is a goddess of talent).”
Lily-Rose Depp, like others who reacted to the video, found the mimicry hilarious. The actress took it in stride and even commented on the video, “I’m laughing….and your makeup is bomb.”
Idol receives criticism from the audience
Idol has divided people since its premiere. The show generated a lot of controversy even before its “raucous” theme was released.
