Manoj Muntashir says ‘sorry with folded hands’ for ‘hurting people’s sentiments’ in Adipurush, netizens divided

New Delhi: Filmmaker Om Raut’s latest release Adipurush received an overwhelming response upon release. The audience disapproved of some of the controversial dialogues, the representation of iconic characters from the epic, and the depiction of Ravana and his Lanka. The makers also had to change the dialogues spoken by Hanuman and Indrajit after severe criticism online. And now writer-lyricist Manoj Muntashir has apologized for it.

Adipurush Defeat: ‘I accept…’

On Saturday, he took to social media to tender a heartfelt apology for hurting the sentiments of the audience in Adipurush. He said: I accept that public sentiment is missing from the film Adipurush.
To all your disciples-sisters, elders, respected sages-saints and devotees of Shri Ram, I request unconditionally with folded hands.
May Bajrang Bali please us all, give us the strength to serve our holy eternal and great country as another God darshan!

What did Manoj Munatashir say…

The Adipurush dialogue writer said in an interview with Aaj Tak, “Bajrangbali is not God, he is a devotee. We have made him God because he had that power in his devotion.” This statement made netizens more upset.

Meanwhile, writer Manoj Muntashir was provided security after he faced protests after he allegedly received death threats. Earlier during a conversation with ANI, he had said, “Our aim was to present the true heroes of Sanatan in front of our young generation. There is an objection on 5 dialogues and they will be changed. If people don’t like certain parts, it’s our responsibility to fix them.”

Adipurush stars Prabhas as Lord Ram, Kriti Sanon as Goddess Sita, Sunny Singh as Laxman and Saif Ali Khan as Ravana.
