It was reported that Kriti Sanon would be playing the role of late veteran actress Meena Kumar in her biopic. Bollywood’s famous designer Manish Malhotra will direct the project. However, looks like the project may run into legal trouble as Meena Kumari’s family is not agreeable to the film with Manish and Kriti.
Tajdar Amrohi, son of Meena Kumari and her husband Kamal Amrohi, told a website that he would drag the makers to court if the project took off. According to Koimoi, Tajdar said that the people of the industry have become completely bankrupt and thieves. They said that they have no right to enter and step on their territory. “They are not only thieves but also dacoits,” he said.

Tajdar said that without his prior consent the film should not have been appreciated. He said that they (Meena and Kamal) are his parents and asked the producers to make a film about his parents. He added that he was sure they would not make such a film because “they are nobody.” He added, “Anyway, whatever they create will be based on all lies.”
Tajdar further said that he would do what his lawyer told him. He said that his lawyer had asked him to wait. He finally said, “Both me and my sister Rushaksar will file a lawsuit.”
Well, looks like Manish Malhotra’s ambitious project has hit a halt even before it can go on floors!
