Monsoon madness: Mumbai rains flood memes and these are the best

Monsoon season has started and its effect is being seen on Mumbai’s Andheri Subway. Heavy rains lashed various areas of Mumbai including Thane, Palghar and Navi Mumbai on Saturday.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that till 8:30 pm on Saturday night, Mumbai had received 115 mm of rain. Out of this total, only 27 mm was recorded between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, while 88 mm was recorded between 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm at IMD’s Santa Cruz observatory.

Traffic flow in Andheri came to a standstill for two hours as the Andheri subway was closed due to water-logging. It may be noted that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had installed six de-watering pumps, but unfortunately the situation did not improve as expected. Let’s leave it there.
