Shubman Gill hit a brilliant unbeaten century to seal a win for Gujarat Titans against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the last league match of Indian Premier League 2023. The win helped Mumbai Indians qualify for the play-offs. The young right-handed Indian batsman played a brilliant inning, smashing RCB bowlers for seven sixes at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Gujarat Titans had already qualified for the knockout stage but they were at their best against Royal Challengers Bangalore as they defeated the Faf du Plessis-led side and made way for Mumbai Indians to enter the top 4. However, it was not just Gill’s knock. It was commendable but Virat Kohli also scored a brilliant century in the first innings which kept RCB’s hopes alive as it helped them post 197 runs on the board in 20 overs.
After Shubman Gill’s match-winning innings, Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to heap praise on the batsman and lauded the young star of Indian cricket for his brilliant performance against Royal Challengers Bangalore that saw Mumbai Indians finish in the top 4 of the points table . , The Master Blaster praised Virat Kohli for his innings and also said that the RCB star played an “amazing innings”.

RCB bowlers were finding it difficult to contain Shubman Gill as the right-handed batsman kept hitting sixes and fours to keep the momentum going for Gujarat Titans. Finally, he hit Wayne Parnell for a six over long-on to chase down the last run of the league stage in IPL 2023. The Hardik Pandya-led side topped the table while Chennai Super Kings, Lucknow Supergiants and Mumbai Indians claimed the next three spots.
