With about a month left until the next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event, we might have a broad idea about what to expect from the next editions of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5. Several leaks have come to the fore in the last few days. Ahead of the official unveiling, a lot has been revealed about how the phones could look – and what’s under their respective hoods.
a twitter leak from revagnus July 25 photo of a bent phone that looks like the Galaxy Z Flip 5 in a blocky, black case (via) 9to5Google, The case hides a lot of the design, but what you can see supports the previous alleged renders. For example, the rear screen could be the same 3.4-inch 720 x 748 cover screen that has been predicted. You could also see side-by-side camera lenses, which is another rumor in the design.
The droplet-style fold is already used by competitor phones like the Oppo Find N2 and should reduce the visible crease when the phone is folded – something that has been a problem since the inception of folding phones .
Following this, prolific leaker SnoopyTech sent the public sleuthing on Monday, resulting in leaked renders of both the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 in various colours. binary-coded tweet as the first clue. When translated, it directed readers pastebin For more clues, and eventually, for renders and specifications. I’ve put together a few renders in the gallery below:
Snoopytech also includes Crumb Trail in the spec sheet, The colors are listed as Cream; graphite; peppermint; and lavender for the Z Flip 5 and icy blue; sour cream; and Phantom Black for the Z Fold 5.
In addition to new color shades and obvious design changes, other changes to Samsung’s foldables include an upgraded Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU and a thinner chassis for both phones — partially supporting an April rumor that the Z Fold 5’s depth will be reduced.
According to leaked specs from SnoopyTech, the Fold 5 will shrink from 14.2mm – the thinnest point of the folded Galaxy Z Fold 4 – to 13.4mm. The Z Flip 5 will also be thinner, measuring 15.1mm when folded, while the Z Flip 4 will be 15.9mm at its thinnest point when folded. The weight of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 could also be reduced, which could be 10 grams less than last year’s model. Lastly, the leak suggests that the Fold 5’s camera array could feature a 12MP telephoto lens — other previous leaks put its telephoto at 10MP, which was used on the Fold 4.
There are two notable absences in Snoopytech’s leak: no 128GB model and no 1TB model for either phone. While that doesn’t mean we won’t see those storage levels in the final phone, it’s worth a look over the next month. Otherwise, based on the specifications listed by SnoopyTech, no other differences stand out – battery life, Wi-Fi connectivity, RAM and other features all point towards mostly unchanged internals.
