Samsung’s new foldable leaks give us our best look at the Z Flip 5 yet

With about a month left until the next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event, we might have a broad idea about what to expect from the next editions of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5. Several leaks have come to the fore in the last few days. Ahead of the official unveiling, a lot has been revealed about how the phones could look – and what’s under their respective hoods.

In addition to new color shades and obvious design changes, other changes to Samsung’s foldables include an upgraded Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU and a thinner chassis for both phones — partially supporting an April rumor that the Z Fold 5’s depth will be reduced.

According to leaked specs from SnoopyTech, the Fold 5 will shrink from 14.2mm – the thinnest point of the folded Galaxy Z Fold 4 – to 13.4mm. The Z Flip 5 will also be thinner, measuring 15.1mm when folded, while the Z Flip 4 will be 15.9mm at its thinnest point when folded. The weight of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 could also be reduced, which could be 10 grams less than last year’s model.
