my impressions P.’s lie The demos are uniformly positive. Developer Neowiz has done an excellent job of translating the story of Pinocchio into a soulful format. The atmosphere is impeccably bleak but deftly avoids straying into edgy territory. Enemy design is also on point with truly terrifying bosses. However, if you have a phobia of puppets, you might want to stay away from them.
It’s also drop-dead gorgeous visually, with even the 60fps performance mode popping off on consoles with accurate, moody lighting and impressive high-quality texture work. The game plays brilliantly, too, feeling fluid as a Soulsborn while applying its own unique twist to combat.
Thank God, P.’s lie The demo was so generous that my stomach was full while we waited for the launch. It introduces the game’s opening areas and concepts, the stunning Hotel Crate Hub, and a handful of excellent boss fights, which had me wondering how creative the game would become in its later stages. September 19 can’t come soon enough.
