Syntegon Group has published its first sustainability report. The processing and packaging technology company aims to create greater transparency and provide stakeholders with greater insight into its sustainability management practices.
Syntagon prepared the report for FY 2022 with reference to the Global Reporting Initiative’s (GRI) recognized sustainability reporting standard. This document provides information on the company’s environmental, social and responsible corporate governance practices. From now on, the company is going to report annually on its sustainability activities.
Syntegon Group Chief Executive Dr Michael Gross said: “With the publication of this first report, we are underlining the importance of sustainability as part of our corporate strategy and demonstrating our commitment to environmentally, socially and responsible corporate governance practices. Our strategy focuses on our products: With our resource-saving machines, we are doing our part to reduce the ecological footprint of pharmaceuticals and food production. And we are helping to make packaging more sustainable with our technologies and services.
Dr Peter Haeckel, Chief Financial Officer of the Syntegon Group, said: “In addition, we are working hard to reduce our carbon footprint. To this end, we are increasing our energy efficiency, getting more electricity from renewable energy and reducing our emissions. Sustainability is not just a moral obligation; It is also a business imperative. With our strategy, we are laying the foundation for sustainable corporate management while securing our financial growth.
Syntagon has also set clear social priorities, as Dr. Grosse explains: “We are committed to greater diversity in the company. With our training and professional development programmes, we are supporting our employees keeping in mind their individual needs. And we’re taking responsibility in the community.”
