The Summer I Turned Pretty’s Gavin Casalegno, Lola Tung Are Proud Of Swifties, Here’s What They Said

It should come as no surprise that the popular young-adult series, The Summer I Turned Pretty, has chosen pop sensation Taylor Swift as its icon. The cast, which includes Lola Tung, Gavin Casalegno, Christopher Briny and writer-turned-producer Jenny Han, are all fans of American pop star Taylor Swift and have expressed their love for her. The season two trailer includes the singer’s best-known tracks such as Back to December (Taylor’s version), as well as an unreleased re-recorded song from her upcoming album, Speak Now (Taylor’s version).

Talking about this, lead actor Gavin Casalegno, who plays Jeremiah, the younger of the two brothers featured in the show, said when asked that some of Taylor Swift’s songs were one of his undisclosed favorite moments in the series. Why were they so important? , “I feel like music is the spice of a moment. When there’s a difficult conversation or when there’s an exciting moment or something like that, music really makes a difference. I think especially for this scene, I think it definitely spiced it up a little bit and made it more fun and alive and I think people will enjoy it.

Lola Tung’s character Bailey is also often seen grooving to Taylor Swift’s songs on the show. Recalling her memories of attending Taylor’s Eraze Tour, Lola said, “She was absolutely magical,” where the singer performed her entire set list. For Tung, a longtime Swift fan, the concert was a revelation, “Even the albums that I hadn’t listened to that much, like ‘Evermore,’ I thought, ‘Oh my God, what a beautiful album. ‘ Each one is so special and unique and I had so much fun.”

Taylor Swift songs have been an important part of The Summer I Turned Pretty series since the season one teaser, which featured This Love as the background. In season two, fans can look forward to hearing August and other unknown tracks. The series is an adaptation of Jenny Han’s best-selling book trilogy of the same name. Summer I Turned Pretty season two will premiere on 14th July on OTT.
