Viral TikTok trends can sometimes teach you a thing or two about technology, and the AI headshot-generation trend is a prime example. In this trend, users take selfies and turn them into high-quality headshots with the touch of a button. Here’s how you can do it.

Getting the perfect business headshot can be a challenging feat because you have to hire a photographer and then find any photo you like enough to become your LinkedIn profile picture or official professional headshot.
So, when I saw TikTok of people using AI to easily generate professional looking headshots, I had to test it out, and below is how I did it and what I found.
Set up your account
To get started, you’ll need to download the Remini app, which is available for both iOS And Android, You can then follow the instructions in the app to set up your account.
First, it will ask you to click on the “Get Started” button, which will take you to the membership page. Here you can choose to start a free, three-day trial. Beware that if you don’t cancel that subscription plan after the trial is over, it will charge you a whopping $10 per week.

To complete your account setup, give Remini access to your photos as she needs between eight and 12 to create your AI-generated headshot.
make your headshot
Once you’re all set up, click on the bottom bar where it says “AI Photos”. Here you will click on “Create my photos” and you will be asked to choose 8-12 photos of yourself in which your face is clearly visible and well lit.
After that, you can scroll through all the many models and click on the one you want to reveal your face to. Once you’ve done that, you’ll need to wait a few minutes until your image is generated. You can turn on notifications to receive alerts when your images are ready.
When the images are generated, you will have six different options to choose from, which you can delete or save as you scroll through. In my experience, some models were great while others left little to be desired.
final call
It took some playing around, but I personally was surprised by how much my favorite image looked like me. I also had some unique facial features in the image, like my slightly crooked smile. You can see that result in the image at the top of the article.
I’ve previously covered how to use AI to create headshots, but — unlike Canva Pro technology — you have to do zero work with this trend.

Yes, some of the images are just random or weird. My personal favorite was when, out of nowhere, the AI gave me a short green bob that I didn’t ask for.
But if you get even one good headshot from randomly submitting 8-12 photos that you really like, that sounds good enough to me.

In terms of cost, the free trial seems absolutely worth it. The $10 per week subscription is a bit high for my liking, but it would probably be worth it if you only subscribed for a week, got the headshots you needed, and then unsubscribed.
