New Delhi: A court has sentenced Tollywood actor couple Rajasekhar and Jeevitha to one year imprisonment in a defamation case. However, the couple was granted bail.
In the judgment pronounced on Tuesday, the 17th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000.
However, the court later granted bail to the actor couple so that they could go for an appeal in the higher court.

In 2011, the actor couple made some allegations against the Chiranjeevi Blood Bank run by megastar Chiranjeevi.
Rajasekhar and his wife had alleged that the blood bank was selling blood after collecting it free of cost from donors.
He alleged that large-scale irregularities had taken place in Chiranjeevi’s blood bank and charitable trust.
He reportedly said that Chiranjeevi’s charitable trust was given Rs. For the maintenance of his blood bank, he was selling a unit of blood for Rs.850 after taking Rs.14.5 lakh from the state government.
Filmmaker and Chiranjeevi’s brother-in-law Allu Aravind had filed a defamation case against the couple.
Arvind had said that the allegations made by him and his henchman Harikrishna Gaur against Chiranjeevi’s charitable trust and the blood bank run by him and its trustees were completely false and politically motivated.
