The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will be involved in the ninth-place play-off against the United States of America (USA) in the World Cup qualifiers today. Today the ninth place play-off between USA and UAE is set to take place at the Takashinga Sports Club in Harare, Zimbabwe. Both UAE and USA have had disappointing performances in the World Cup qualifiers so far. UAE finished their Group B journey at the bottom of the points table without winning a single game. On the other hand, USA had a similar campaign in the World Cup qualifiers. The USA cricket team, having failed to register a single win, finished their Group A journey in fifth place in the standings.
USA and UAE last faced each other in March this year. UAE lost that match by a margin of five wickets. They will come into today’s game having lost their previous match to Nepal by three wickets. Batting first, UAE could only manage a total of 181 runs in that match. UAE wicket-keeper Vrithik Arvind emerged as his team’s top-scorer with 40 runs. Nepal achieved the target during the run chase with 40 balls to spare.
