The new exam – which is a requirement for all medical students graduating in the academic year 2024-25 – assesses the fundamental knowledge, abilities and attitudes required to practice safely as a doctor in the UK.
Youworld’s learning tools are linked to the MLA Exam Blueprint and provide over a thousand clinically relevant questions that have been developed by practicing doctors.
Along with a wide range of practice questions, there is also context-specific imagery to deepen students’ understanding of key concepts. In addition, concise, detailed reasoning describes the clinical reasoning behind the right and wrong answers.
Chandra S Pemmasani, Founder and CEO of Youworld, said: “We are thrilled to offer our award-winning tools to UK medical students and teachers to help them succeed in the UKMLA.
“Expansion into the UK market is a natural next step after supporting more than 90% of US medical students preparing for the USMLE for more than 15 years.
“We are proud to offer content that has been carefully developed by subject matter experts, underscoring our commitment to providing resources of exceptional quality.”
Online tools and resources also include personalized performance reports so students can identify areas of weakness, and customizable flashcards to help them focus on the right areas.
Digital content is also available to educators, who can customize resources to complement their medical curriculum. Formative or summative learning assignments can be built around the 1,500+ question bank.
Similarly, gradebooks and reporting tools for teachers provide insight into classroom performance so teachers can more easily identify knowledge gaps for early intervention and support.
