At the end of the second day’s play, Kohli said that he enjoyed batting in this innings. He admitted that he was not at his best as the bowlers were bowling in the right areas. However, he took time to settle down and decided to play his shots when he settled down.
Kohli also slammed critics who kept pointing out the fact that prior to this century, he had not scored a single century overseas for five years. Kohli said, “These are things to talk about for others. I have scored 15 hundreds away from home, it is not a bad record. I have scored more hundreds away from home. The main thing is to play to the best of my ability. We haven’t played 30 matches away from home and I have got a few fifty-plus scores. I want to contribute as much as possible. If I score 50 it looks like I missed 100, if I score 120 it’s like that.” Looks like I missed it.” Double century. These stats and milestones don’t mean anything in 15 years’ time, they will remember whether I made an impact or not.”
Kohli also said that he is great that he can play 500 matches for India. He said that his hard work and commitment towards the sport has brought him to where he is and he will continue to strive for excellence in the times to come. He also credited his high level of fitness for being on the field for such a long time.
