Mastodon GmbH, the organization that maintains Mastodon’s open source software, rated one bug as critical and three others as high and medium severity. According to Ars Technica, even large servers were sent pre-announcements about the security flaws in recent weeks so they could be ready to deploy the patch immediately when it went live.
