House of Dragon fans have been eager to get updates about season 2 of the show ever since the shooting started. Photos obtained by the Daily Mail from the set of the show have given fans a glimpse into the Targaryen Civil War.
Photos from the sets of House of the Dragon
House of the Dragon takes place 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. The series is based on George RR Martin’s Fire and Blood and tells the gripping story of House Targaryen. Photos published by Del Mail show Olivia Cooke as Lady Alicent Hightower, Fia Saban as Queen Helena Targaryen and Fabian Frankel as Ser Kristen Cole. The shooting of the second season is expected to wrap up soon. The pictures show the queen and her mother sitting in a golden chariot surrounded by knights. Helena wears the green of House Hightower rather than the red and black which are the colors of House Targaryen, while both women wear a veil over their faces.
The person standing right behind him appears to be Ser Kristen Cole, although his clothing reveals little. Cole is a part of the Kingsguard, often seen wearing ornate white armour. It was established in the season 1 finale that he’s Lord Commander, which would mean he’d be even better dressed from there on out. The person wearing the helmet blocks most of his face from view, making it difficult to determine who he really is.
Through the pictures, the fans got a glimpse of the set of the upcoming season. The pictures show how impressively it is made and how much CGI magic will be added to it.

house of dragons season 2 controversy
The show became controversial when they continued filming despite the ongoing writers’ strike. Showrunner Ryan Condall has decided to stay on set and continue working without violating the WGA strike guidelines. He has faced a lot of scrutiny from writers questioning him about compartmentalization. However, author George RR Martin defended Condle in a blog post he wrote.
“The second season of House of the Dragon begins filming on 11 April and will continue in London and Wales,” Martin wrote. He continued, “The scripts for the eight s2 episodes were finished months long before the strike began. Each episode went through four or five drafts and several rounds of revisions to address HBO’s notes, my notes, budget concerns, etc. There will be no further revisions. The writers have done their job, the rest is in the hands of the directors, cast and crew… and of course, the dragons.
