In the photos, Selena can be seen wearing a gray Balenciaga sweatshirt paired with blue denim shorts. Her hair was styled in a high ponytail. She completed the look with a pair of golden hoop earrings and sneakers. Sharing the pictures, he captioned the post, “Ice cream chillin (ice cream emoji)”.

As soon as she shared the post, fans and followers noticed Selena’s sweatshirt and called her out for supporting the controversial brand. For the unversed, the luxury brand came under fire last November for its Spring/Summer 2023 collection, which featured two children wearing B**M-style Bond*G gear alongside teddy bears. The ad campaign also allegedly included court documents from a child sex abuse case.

Selena Gomez fans didn’t mince their words when they criticized the singer for endorsing a controversial brand. One user wrote, “So it’s safe to say you’re cool with child abuse by wearing a Balenciaga sweatshirt.” Another user’s comment read, “Pedophile brand ad with Kim. Very wrong and very sad. I thought you were different.” A third follower commented, “Balancinga who sexually assaults children? Is that what you call mercy killing? (pig emoji)”

Yet another person commented, “You who was the youngest ever UNICEF ambassador and who protects children so much, you shouldn’t be wearing the BALENCIAGA (crying emoji)”. Another person commented, “I thought you were a nice person but you are malicious (thumbs down emoji), did you know this brand supports pedophilia so I am disappointed in you (sad emoji) “.

Still others defended the rare singer and pointed out that the pictures in question are not recent but a few years old. One fan said, “Everyone is so freaking out about the sweater, if you’d be smart enough and have a modicum of brain to understand that this is an old photo it’s extremely obvious. From vomiting stuff into comments like a psycho.” Use some brains first.
