The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket South Africa (CSA) are pleased to confirm the schedule for India’s all-format tour of South Africa to be played in December and January.
The tour will begin with a three-match T20I series, followed by a three-match ODI series and end with the Freedom Series for the Gandhi-Mandela Trophy which will consist of two Tests.
Shri Jay Shah, Honorary Secretary, BCCI, said: “The Freedom Series is important not just because it features two outstanding Test teams, but also because it honors Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela, two great leaders who shaped the lives of our respective countries and shaped them around the world. The Boxing Day Test and the New Year Test are among the most important events on the international cricket calendar and the schedule is specially planned around these key dates. India has always enjoyed strong support in South Africa, And I’m sure the fans will be in for some exciting matches that won’t let up on the intensity.”
